Powering across the game line and ready to tackle anything on the rugby field, the adidas FF80 Pro XTRX SG Rugby Boot is ready for kick-off.
Every aspect of the adidas FF80 has been engineered to increase traction in scrums, rucks and mauls; allowing loose forwards to be faster to the breakdown and provide a solid platform for explosive acceleration.
Made from a lightweight Singmax upper, this ensures a strong feel across the foot and delivers comfort from the moment you slip them on. The Sprintframe construction allows for the perfect balance between being lightweight and stable whilst the gradual heel raise makes for a dynamic foot position.
The FF80 is truly defined by the inclusion of an extra stud positioned under the toe of the boot. This small and subtle addition delivers improved stability, traction and power as you launch yourself across soft natural playing surfaces. This 5x2 stud configuration not only offers significant benefits over the more traditional 4x2 rugby boot but specifically caters to the unique requirements of specialist flankers and number 8 forwards.
Not ones to be complacent, adidas have also paid significant attention to the interior by way of a soft synthetic lining for added comfort, a pre-moulded EVA sockliner and an anti-slip EVA insert inside the back of the heel.
Designed for an imposing yet striking appearance on the field, the urban sky tone to the front of the upper makes way for a more traditional black look towards the middle and back of the boot. To liven up proceedings, adidas have decorated their signature three stripes in vivid yellow blazing along each side whilst the FF80 branding receives the same colour treatment around the heel.
Compatible with the adidas miCoach chip which fits discreetly beneath the inner sole, your boots now have the ability to report back on all your progress in training and match environments. Time, speed, distance, speed zones and number of sprints are all recorded and can be monitored by simply connecting the miCoach chip to your PC or iPhone. There’s nowhere to hide now as your every move is monitored.
As further testament to the FF80, Wales captain Sam Warburton has found the boot to be a real benefit when scrummaging and having to change direction quickly whilst providing better traction courtesy of the extra stud.
