The iconic red rose has a new partner as England Rugby welcomes Canterbury to the team.
Made by Canterbury, from 93% polyester and 7% lycra, the England 2012/13 Alternate Players Test S/S Rugby Shirt is the version as worn by the England players.
Taking inspiration from the purple tracksuits sported by the players during the 70's, 80's and early 90's, the purple tone to this new England rugby shirt reintroduces the distinct look and honours that tradition. As is customary, the England red rose takes up pride of place atop the left chest whilst the Canterbury branding is sported in a classy gold tone on the right side.
As a pro rugby shirt, the fit is designed to be tight, with the elasticated sleeve edges ensuring a snug fit whilst the body of the jersey moulds to the contours of your chest and arms. With Canterbury on board, they have incorporated their signature power-band looped neckline which not only helps create a stylish look but has also been created to be extremely robust and suit life on the rugby field. As a final touch, the tacky grip across the upper chest has been designed in a unique way so as to replicate the England rose.
To complete the new look, a small St George's flag has been incorporated onto the reverse of the collar, with the red cross substituted for an elegant gold tone.
