Built for speed, this high performance Mercurial Veloce SG Rugby Boot further enhances Nike's status at the pinnacle of boot design.
Created as a take-down option to the high-end Mercurial Vapor IX, this model still achieves an incredibly lightweight design courtesy of the strong yet soft contoured teijin upper. Taking inspiration from the dimpled surface of a golf ball and featuring debossed microgrooves, this approach has been applied to quite simply reduce air resistance and enhance ball control.
Engineered to make light work of soft natural surfaces, a hybrid configuration of moulded and screw-in studs across the forefoot and heel delivers explosive acceleration and optimises multi-directional grip.
Across the midsole and the contoured, perforated sockliner provides low-profile cushioning whilst helping to reduce stud pressure for enhanced performance. Continuing across the boot and the attention to detail has been incorporated in every aspect of this Mercurial Veloce. Inspired by track spikes, the forefoot grip zone is a subtle addition which provides vital toe-off traction for that all-important injection of speed.
The Nike design team have been at it again and just when you thought they didn't have any more colours to work with. For high visibility, take a dynamic fire berry tone and have this fuse with prime purple for a look that is brave but a highly successful colour combination. With the inclusion of the Nike swoosh decorated in electric green wrapped around the toes, it is left to the Nike branding in white to cool down proceedings.
