Built for speed, this lightweight elite performance rugby boot further enhances Nike's status at the pinnacle of boot technology and innovation.
For players seeking a lightweight high performance model, then the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX SG Pro barely touches the scales at 215g (UK size 8). This minimalist design is delivered courtesy of a strong yet soft Premium Teijin microfibre upper which has taken inspiration from the dimpled surface of a golf ball and features debossed microgrooves. This approach has been applied to quite simply reduce air resistance and enhance ball control.
As an added feature which further enhances the performance and reliability of these rugby boots, the Mercurial Vapor IX comes equipped with Nike's innovative new All Conditions Control (ACC), created to aid the grip between the boot and ball for enhanced performance control in all conditions.
Across the midsole and the contoured, perforated sockliner provides low-profile cushioning whilst helping to reduce stud pressure for enhanced performance. Continuing across the boot and the attention to detail has been incorporated in every aspect of this Mercurial Vapor IX. Inspired by track spikes, the forefoot grip zone is a subtle addition which provides vital toe-off traction for that all-important injection of speed.
A hybrid configuration of reinforced moulded and screw-in metallic studs of varying length (11mm and 13mm) ensure light work is made of soft natural surfaces. The full length chassis combines two layers of glass-fibre composite to help reduce stud pressure whilst providing instant support and stability across this demanding surface.
The Nike design team have been at it again and just when you thought they didn't have any more colours to work with. For high visibility, take a dynamic fire berry tone and have this fuse with prime purple for a look that is brave but a highly successful colour combination. With the inclusion of the Nike swoosh decorated in electric green wrapped around the toes, it is left to the Nike branding in white to cool down proceedings.
