Built for speed, this lightweight elite performance rugby boot further enhances Nike's status at the pinnacle of boot technology and innovation.
For players seeking a lightweight high performance model, then the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX FG barely touches the scales at 196g (UK size 8). This minimalist design is delivered courtesy of a strong yet soft Premium Teijin microfibre upper which has taken inspiration from the dimpled surface of a golf ball and features debossed microgrooves. This approach has been applied to quite simply reduce air resistance and enhance ball control.
As an added feature which further enhances the performance and reliability of these rugby boots, the Mercurial Vapor IX comes equipped with Nike's innovative new All Conditions Control (ACC), created to aid the grip between the boot and ball for enhanced performance control in all conditions.
Across the midsole and the contoured, perforated sockliner provides low-profile cushioning whilst helping to reduce stud pressure for enhanced performance. Continuing across the boot and the attention to detail has been incorporated in every aspect of this Mercurial Vapor IX. Inspired by track spikes, the forefoot grip zone is a subtle addition which provides vital toe-off traction for that all-important injection of speed.
Reinforced bladed studs of varying length ensure light work is made of natural firm surfaces. The full length chassis combines two layers of glass-fibre composite to help reduce stud pressure whilst providing instant support and stability.
Following on from the winning looks of fireberry and sunset, Nike have once again pushed the boundaries of design with this latest colourful offering. Rising from the deep, a neptune blue tone is embraced in a graded tone across the upper and is joined by a bright dose of volt across the signature Nike Swoosh wrapped around the toes. To complete the bold look, the Nike branding takes on a splash of pink atop the inside ankle.
